ServiceNow Technical Consultant - SC Cleared
About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled ServiceNow ITOM Discovery Technical Consultant to join a major ServiceNow transformation programme within a secure enterprise environment. The ideal person combines deep technical expertise with a practical understanding of how Discovery and CMDB drive business outcomes.
You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Discovery, ensuring accurate and automated population of the CMDB and integration with key ITSM processes. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong experience across ServiceNow ITOM, infrastructure, and integrations.
What You’ll Be Doing

Configure, deploy, and optimise ServiceNow Discovery to identify and map on-premise and cloud infrastructure.

Work with stakeholders to define Discovery schedules, credentials, and MID Server configurations.

Develop and tune patterns, probes, and sensors to improve accuracy and performance.

Integrate Discovery data into the CMDB, maintaining alignment with the CSDM model and ITSM processes.

Troubleshoot Discovery issues across network, credential, and firewall layers.

Collaborate with architects and process consultants to ensure Discovery supports operational goals.

Support data quality and reconciliation activities between ServiceNow and external data sources.

Provide technical documentation, operational handover, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Skills & Experience Required

Active Security Clearance (SC) – essential.

4+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM Discovery and CMDB.

Solid understanding of infrastructure components (servers, databases, storage, virtualisation, networking, cloud).

Experience implementing MID Servers, credential management, and troubleshooting Discovery failures.

Familiarity with ServiceNow CSDM, Event Management, and Service Mapping highly desirable.

Strong scripting skills (JavaScript, Glide) and knowledge of ServiceNow APIs and integrations.

Comfortable working in large, complex, and secure environments with multiple stakeholder groups.

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery or CSA certification preferred.
